John was six years old when he realized his calling. He made movies in his backyard with his friends as a teenager. He made a feature film while still in university, Vampire, World of Darkness. In 2006 he received his Bachelor's degree in Motion Picture & Television Direction from the Academy of Art University of San Francisco. He went on to direct and produce many films, such films as FACE and Simply Sandra, which screened at the 2015 Cannes International Film Festival and was distributed on Amazon Prime.
